Getting to and around the Hamptons using public transportation.

There are several service providers to help you get to the Hamptons without driving a car.

From the New York Metropolitan Area:
The Long Island Rail Road and two private motorcoach operators provide direct service between New York City and the Hamptons:

In addition, Hampton Jitney provides connecting service between LaGuardia, Kennedy and MacArther/Islip Airports via local cab connections to their stop. Contact them for more information. Taxis can also be found at LIRR stations and private bus stops on the East End.

From Connecticut/New England:
The Bridgeport/Port Jefferson Steamboat Company offers service from Bridgeport, CT to Port Jefferson. Find more information on the Web at www.bpjferry.com or call 631-473-0286. The Cross Sound Ferry connects New London, CT to Orient Point. More information is available at www.longislandferry.com or 631-3232525.

Both offer car and passenger ferry services from Connecticut to the North Shore of Long Island as well as intermodal links with the Amtrak Northeast Corridor Rail service stop.

The car and passenger North Ferry (631-749-0139) service connects Green-port on the North Fork to Shelter Island where the car and passenger South Ferry (631-749-1200) connects to North Haven/ Sag Harbor on the South Fork.
